Business Chamber South's Jobs and Skills Fair will be held at Hurstville on Thursday April 3 providing students and jobseekers with direct access to employers.
More than 700 students from various schools across the Georges River, Bayside and Sutherland Local Government Areas are registered to attend the morning session.
And several hundred jobseekers have already registered to attend the afternoon session with registration still open, making the event one of the largest job fairs in the region.
The students and jobseekers will have the opportunity to meet employers from a range of industries who will be showcasing career pathways and skill development opportunities.
They will be able to talk with training providers and career mentors to gain valuable insights and connections that will help shape their future career paths.
President of Business Chamber South, Tony Baddour said the Jobs and Skills Fair is a game-changer for both students and businesses.
"With skills shortages impacting many industries, this event provides an opportunity for employers to connect directly with the next generation of workers," Mr Baddour said.
"We are thrilled to facilitate meaningful conversations that lead to real employment outcomes," he said.
Minister for Skills, TAFE, and Tertiary Education, Steve Whan, who will open the Jobs and Skills Fair, commended the initiative, highlighting its role in strengthening the local economy.
"The Jobs and Skills Fair is an excellent example of how business and education institutions can work together to address workforce challenges," Mr Whan said.
"By providing students with direct access to employers, we are helping to create a pipeline of skilled workers ready to contribute to their communities.
"I congratulate Business Chamber South on this significant event and their ongoing commitment to workforce development," he said.
Business Chamber South invites all businesses, students, and job seekers to participate in the event and help to secure future employment prospects.
